Lauenau Murder Case (2019)
Acquittal after appeal processA sensational case: A father from Lauenau was accused of killing his wife in her sleep. Initially, he was sentenced to 11 years and 6 months for manslaughter in 2017 – based on the testimony of his lover. The Federal Court of Justice overturned the verdict.
In the appeal process before the Hildesheim Regional Court, Matthias Doehring achieved a complete acquittal. The evidence was too uncertain, and the court acquitted the client after three and a half years of pre-trial detention.
Rietberg Robbery-Murder Trial
Sentence reduction after appealIn the case of a deadly robbery of two brothers in Rietberg (2015), Doehring became active as a defender after the original murder verdict was overturned. While the main defendant was again charged with murder, Doehring was able to obtain a significant sentence reduction for his client.
After a confession, Artur T. was sentenced to only 6 years and 9 months for aggravated robbery and dangerous bodily harm – instead of a life sentence.
EncroChat Trial in Wolfsburg
Defense in technically intensive major proceedingsIn one of Germany's most significant drug trials, Doehring and his partner represented clients charged in connection with the EncroChat scandal. The encrypted communication was used to coordinate international drug trafficking.
Doehring was described by media as an "EncroChat attorney" because he immersed himself deeply in the technical aspects of the case and critically argued against the admissibility of the EncroChat data.
